Default Rear wiper motor

So the rear wiper motor doesn’t return to its park position, in intermittent it wipes about 8” at a time, in continuous it wipes continually, but when you turn it of it just stops anywhere unless you time it well to get it at the bottom of the screen. Dose this mean a new motor? Or any fixes?

The motor self-parks using an additional live wire, activated by a contact inside the motor mechanism which closes until the wiper has parked and then turns off.
The vital wire through the hinge will probably have broken.

Ok great thanks for that, yes some of the wires in the hinge have broken, and on my list of to do’s, but everything seemed to work, I think that most ends must touch when closed. Thanks for that I will prioritise that now. Trouble is I was having trouble finding both sides of the replacement loom. Found one other was out of stock.

What I've always done is just run another wire bypassing the hinge, as a "temporary" measure.
Then when most of them have broken you can think about about replacing the rather unsightly bundle with the proper cable. Or not.
