Newly aquired 06 D5 XC70 issues to sort
Ok so I recently aquired a manual xc70 06 plate D5 185 with 200k collected weekend before Xmas. This will be run (hopefully) along side our petrol v70xc.
It's been sat waiting for an overdue cambelt change and service before getting it on the road. I did not want to run the risk of engine failure on the tensioner and glad I did! Anyway having collected the parts, this weekend I managed to change the cam belt, tensioner, water pump, alt tensioner alt belt and alt pulley along with a coolant flush. Fluids and filters left to change so with that done I got the front up and on the ramps so I could get underneath with the underguard off. Plan was to oil and filter change...but didn't have the correct size socket Anyway on looking underside and other locations I discovered that: 1. It's around the rear of the subframe below the steering rack UJ. It's not across the complete rack. There is red fluid and if you look you can see it on the bolt. The PAS fluid in the car is red. I don't know the grade of whats in there but im gona flush with the correct green The steering on the journey home was very light and precise compared to my other v70xc. 2. On the sump there appears to be a lot of oil staining. Could it be an oil leak from the cooler? 3. The fuel filter housing seems to be cable tied in place under the car against some wood and plastic bracker. It's also very loose with the cable tie removed. I have not attempted probably look yet but is it possible to chamge the complete housing the filter fits in. 4. On the drive home there seemed a lot of engine rocking movement. The top mount needs replacing but I tested the lower vacuum engine mounts to see if they held vacuum using a hand held tester connected to the hose from the solenoid. After creating a vacuum it would not hold above 5inhg but held for 10 sec before taking 30 sec slowly drop back to 0. Is this normal? 5. The car was running and idling whilst flushing the coolant probably for about 45min. I suddenly get a AntI skid service required message on the dash. The car has not been drive or had my brakes applied in nearly a month. So I plug in the VIDA DICE unit to read the codes and get a fault code: BCM0133 brake pressure sea or signal too low. Having switched the car off and back on the warning has now gone. I had cleared all the codes before driving away so know it was a recent one. Any idea what could cause this? I'm sure there will be more questions as I learn my way around the new D5 engine. Thanks

The red pas fluid is transmission fluid, about 1 or 2l for a flush, but first look at the tie rod gaiters, see if any has fluid around. I recommend lifting and draining the reservoir, then refill with pentosin and proceed with flushing.
Worth measuring the transmission fluid level and the brakes fluid (in case the slave cylinder is on its way out) Used quality cambelt parts? Possible to replace the oil filter housing if cracked The Anti-skid has some reasons, awd (DEM), axle bolts, uneven tire wear, reluctor rings, see if it comes back
