Instrument panel repair.
Hi all, just been informed by my local Volvo specialist I need my instrument panel removed and sent away to be repaired. All dials packed up after intermittent fault. Anybody had this? How much did it cost and does the dash need re-coding after repair. Thanks in advance. Regards Chris.

Look up member here, name is Spokoluzik.
Drop him a PM, explain what happened. I had mine fixed by him at cost of £50(members price), I think normal fee is £60-70 or so. But then- I was able to drive to him (London/Dartford area). You may consider one of following: Send him the instrument cluster-wait for repair- wait for return shipment (car off the road for that time) Or: Buy another cluster off him(provide some details and he will pre-program it), something around £300 I think, receive it and swap in your car, send him your old cluster back for partial repayment (in the end you're paying repair cost +shipping)

Hi, thanks for the quick response, just to clarify, if I have mine repaired I don't need to do anything other than put it back in, is this correct, no coding of any sort after installing, job done?. 03 v70 2.4 petrol auto140,000

Brilliant fella, got mine back soooo quick, when the text display was messed up then the whole panel died.

Just reinstall it. The repair has no effect on addressing/coding.

Maybe unplug the battery for the time of installation. Last thing I'd like to see would be airbags error..
Just a reminder: Turn off the car. Wait at least 10 minutes for systems to shut down. Disconnect NEGATIVE only. Fit the part. Turn the key into position II, if your car doesn't do it automatically- make sure the lights are switched ON Reconnect battery. Load of lightbulbs is supposed to alleviate effect of electrical arc (on the battery) when you're reconnecting. Otherwise there would be a chance that one ir other module would get damaged by voltage spikes. Set the clock. Re-search for radio stations. Done.
