Hi guys, need some help here....
Some numpty (ok, it was me) didn't tighten the 3 bolts up properly that hold the Fuel Pump cage to the floor properly!! So, month later and 1 bolt is loose, and the other 2 are 'somewhere' in the West Midlands, and my fuel pump cage was hanging on for dear life! Anyway, they are bolts with 12mm heads, and for now I've managed to 'borrow' one from the front panel by the radiator, but need to get some replacements. Can anyone tell me what 'size' bolts these are, so I can buy some from Ebay or my local tool shop? I haven't got a clue with Metric... I only understand UNC/UNF!

Pretty much all of the threads on Volvo's are metric (well 900 and 700 onwards at least). If the head size of the bolts is 12mm then I am pretty sure that they have an 8mm thread. You could get some from a bolt stockist or motor shop but they might have a bigger spanner size and you might need to fit some washers.
If you have a breakers locally find a suitable car and get a few from around the engine bay a lot of it is held together with 8mm bolts just make sure they are long enough . |
