Ah, that was actually my plan, but I completely forgot to get them when I went out to get the paint etc. and didn't realise until it came to when I was ready to paint. Will definitely be using cards next time though.

Measured brake disc temps again after a run, fronts both 55C in the centre at 12 o'clock, rear nearside 45C, rear offside 60C.

Hopefully next week I'll get a chance to strip the rear brakes again; I still think they're too hot. And a worrying trend of sticking in place on the hill after releasing the handbrake has continued (having stood for six days), requiring throttle to free the shoes with a bang-bang.

The current shoes are Volvo and have done 28k miles over 2.5 years. Only in the past few weeks have they begun sticking, in the same way the old ones did, but I've felt there's intermittent very light drag for a while now.

Very excited my new wheel protection rub plates arrived.

#9190823 and #9190824 only available from dealer it seems and they had to order them from Volvo's Swedish heritage warehouse.

To replace this:

Decided metal edges probably not ideal to rub on tyres

Front. I suspect that's what 175,000 miles of 18" wheels on R springs and shocks does.

Default Halogen led-projector headlight retrofit.

Started with the from halogen headlights to led-projector retrofit.
Used an old plastic lens for fitment.
Once everything is correct/adjusted new plastic lenses will be installed….

Finished the last bit of De-Pimping on my V70 and restored a useful part of the car's interior!

Gone is the Turbo boost gauge, and back is the driver's side air vent!

Just need to get the missing bit of plastic pipe now...

Started my day be removing the original number plate which some nugget had drilled two extra holes into, I presume to fit screws, but there were no screws under the covers which had been superglued on, so I now have to seal the holes to prevent water entering the inside of the tailgate. I'm glad the tailgate is made from a composite material so at least it won't rust

Next I finished polishing the V70 then gave it a coat of my favourite Chemical Guys 5050 wax, after that it was onto cleaning 18 years of brake dust from the Thor wheels

...using a combination of turpentine, Farecla G3, MB products polish

and finishing off with Angelwax Rim wax
