Good morning,
I am considering buying a V90 D5 awd but I do a lot of mileage every week. About 1200km a week.
Can someone give me the real world MPG.

Wouod I be better off going for the D4 version

Thanks

D4 would be better. On my (S90) D5 doing mostly motorway and some fast A roads (and without going too fast ...) something over 40mpg. I'd expect a D4 to edge closer to 50.

This is a complex question, or rather answer. Everyone has a different mix of driving both in the roads, distance and personal style - so anything very exact isn't possible.

Just had a chat with a pal of mine who runs a V90 D4, like you he does a lot of motorway mileage due to his job. He says he often gets 50mpg plus. I run a D5 V90. Short trips the car is in the mid thirties, last year before the lockdown I did a trip to South Wales to visit the daughter and managed to get 44mpg. So I would go down the D4 route if economy is a necessity . Mind you the trip home from Wales was in the early hours and I wasn't hanging around, needless to say the mpg dropped to the mid thirties.

Thanks folks,
I suppose the fuel is important but fun is too. Decisions to make I suppose. 33mpg doesn't seem great if I'm honest

Dang, that seems expensive! Are cars in Eire really that much more than the UK, or is that person taking the mick?

I can't speak for others but in my view current Volvo's are better built than Mercs (I had three of those, each one worse than the previous). I'm not the only one on here to think that either.

But I must say I would be a bit wary about this deal. As suggested above, it is hugely expensive by UK standards. Furthermore, S90/V90 D5 AWDs are not "very rare". He's trying to make AWD sound like a very expensive option that nobody selected. All these D5s are AWD. Just have a look on Autotrader; there's plenty of them.

I agree but youd be surprised. There isnt many in ireland. Even if you look at v90 under 30k you dont see many on the website ive linked and all similar pricing. What price is a 2017 in UK??

Note the ad says one key - there should be at least 2 (maybe 3 - 2 ordinary, one sports, not sure what came with V90).

Also, I’d have thought that someone looking to sell for top dollar would have made a better effort to prep and clean the car. The carpet mats are missing, what state are these I wonder...
