C70 roof issue
Hi all
I’m looking at buying a 2003 Volvo C70 soft top. A very clean straight car but the roof doesn’t work. The warning chime sounds as as if the roof is opening all the time. I have also noticed the radio doesn’t work at all. I believe there is a power feed goes through the radio to the roof? Any suggestions would be great . Thanks in advance. |

You need to join the Facebook group - Volvo C70 mark1 roof problems and fixes. You will get a detailed response with full diagnosis of what the issues might be.
Most roof problems are caused by neglect and faulty micro switches. Good luck with the potential purchase - they are fabulous cars.

Does anyone know if the radio is dead this will also have an effect on the roof ?
Or maybe it has 2 separate issues ? |

Had a good look at this car today turns out the radio only needs the code.
But when opening the button for the roof nothing happens. The current owner said he thought it was the switch. Fitted a new switch , the roof closed , but hasn’t worked since 🤔 I did notice the rear roof hatch cover sits low on the n/s |

Have you tried manually cycling the roof to fully open and then fully closed.
