Sorry to say I've broken the engine on my fine but tatty car and had to be recovered yesterday as power was getting less and less, there was a grinding/vibration under load and a rattling.
I've run this car for 8 months through all weathers and she has been super reliable but I don't have the time/skills/wallet to embark on getting her repaired. She starts and moves (just) but will need to be trailered away from Heathfield in E Sussex.
This note is just a signpost ahead of a more detailed post with photos and details of the car.

The MOT runs out this month I think, last year's advisory was 'some play in the steering' and she does wander about a bit, so I think track rod ends, or whatever will need to be done, but clearly that's not the issue here !

Anyway, stay tuned for more later. Once you have a better idea of the condition I would appreciate what you think she's worth.

Thanks Chris

What part of the body is the corrosion so bad? Is it the spare wheel holding area? If not can you post a pick showing where it is located. Are there other areas with corrosion? thanks.

Default Corrosion

The nearside wheel well in the boot is a big hole, there was a 1" hole on the n/s rear window pillar at the bottom which I did with some filler. The rain gutter below the windscreen had bathroom sealant in it when I bought the car so I got that off and ground down the rust and painted. There was a little hole in the n/s roof rain gutter which I did, theres surface rust on the wheelarches and starting to show along the lower part of some doors, bits on the front wing at the headlights.
I've got some service history for it which I will post here first and then if anyone wants to make me an offer, get in quick before it goes on eBay !

it's not as ratty as mine....!!! but yes they all 'go' in the same places....and blue interiors are wrecked by the sun....!!

and that spare wheel well can be replaced - i think Brookhouse do them, or can get them?

well worth a purchase

good luck with sale
