I was wondering about using an independant. As it happens the car is going in for some recurring warranty issues (misfire, rattly door, loose sill cover) which it obviously needs to see the dealer to resolve.
I also looked at the PFV website and priced the pads at £90 for the set of four. Surely they won't be any cheaper to buy at a dealer. Out of interest, where would an indy source genuine pads? Assumedly they would get a small trade discount from a Volvo dealer, but even at £40 an hour that doesn't leave a lot of money to cover the labour. I was looking at PW Cars as I am often down that way and have heard nothing but praise for them - I was surprised to see their website states their labour rates at £72/hr, which I felt steep for a Volvo indy. Indeed, it is comparative with some of the pricier Porsche specialists. What are the usual Volvo dealer labour rates? Justin. Last edited by Justin85; Nov 1st, 2007 at 19:16. |
