S40 (New) General : - Manufacture Year by VIN?

How do I know if my 54 plate S40 is a 2005MY? The printed owners book is the 2005 version and the car was registered late Sept 04.

With other cars i've owned there is usually quite a lot of info about changes to spec from one year to the next and this is normally identified from the VIN. Often changes are cosmetic or minor but interesting nonetheless!

I've done a search but not much is forthcoming

Well, managed to find out that mine appears to be an '05' spec (Thanks 4 forty). Next question is - what changes did Volvo make between 04MY and 05MY? Any font of knowledge have this information stored anywhere

Edit: Indeed, was there an update between first build new S40s on an '04' plate and cars deemed '05' on the VIN?
