MK1 C70 roof woes
Hi all, my 03 C70 has had a bodged roof repair by a previous owner. The roof is currently not operational as some very nice person glued one of the rear grey plastic latches back together. It’s not I’m many many bits and I’m desperate to have it resolved. Can this latch be replaced on its own or am I looking at a much more complex repair?
I do intend to replace the roof as it’s really seen better days, is there anyone on the forum with experience of changing the roof? |

Hi,
Speak to Minty (Kevin) here on the forums. He breaks a lot of C70 convertibles “thank god, helps keep mine going”. Anyways, he probably can answer your question and may have the parts you need. Brian |

The car needs a revamp but it’s been such a cracking motor I don’t have the heart to sell it. So, it’s coming up the drive and being totally revamped. |

Sounds like the guy I need, I’ve only had the car since January but it’s been an amazing car despite having a previous dodgy owner.
Rather than sell it in as spares etc my wife and I have decided to bring it off the road and completely revamp the car back to its former glory lol. Some People might think thats bizzare as it’s ‘just a volvo’ but it’s comfortable, roomy and ultra reliable so will do us nicely. Last edited by Mach; May 19th, 2018 at 11:01. I'm looking for help with the roof on my c70 too...
my is a bit temperamental. It always seem to go back up perfectly well on its own but sometimes has issues going down. When it goes down as the canvas and frame reaches the end of its folding process into the well it normally makes a 'clunk' if it does this I know all is well and the rest of the roof down process will work fine. sometimes it doesn't make this 'clunk' and that's when I know I have to get out and push the roof the last inch or so downwards myself so the two flaps will close ant the cover will close. Its almost as though theres something stopping the canvas folding properly. anyone any ideas...
