Thanks
Absolute chancer if you ask me, they are NOT £300 new. The brand new 2012 Iron emblem Grilles are only £180 brand spanking new.

These grilles DO come up regularly on ebay and I have myself sold one in the past. They normally go for approx. £50 and that is ones without damage like yours. I think £30 would be a more realistic figure for yours given its condition.

Personally I think it is a complete cheek you coming on here basically trying to rip people off. In general, on the forum we try and help each other out and offer each other items at realist or bargain prices, that is what being part of a forum is all about. Not ripping each other off trying to get 3 or 4 times what the item is considered generally being worth.

I think you should just try ebay with a 'No Reserve' and actually see what you get for it. I'm sure we won't be proven wrong in what you will get for it.

Well I actually bought it directly off someone on this forum in the first place.

When I tried to buy the part originally my Volvo dealer wanted just under £300.

I wasnt trying to rip people off, I was putting in a starting price expecting someone to make me an offer and I might get what I paid for it a few months ago.

Thanks for your friendly advice and comment.

If someone on this forum charged you £150 for that grille in that condition just a few months ago then I say name and shame them.

Seriously how much did you pay for the grille?

Maybe I came across a bit strong but it boils my blood, sorry for that.

EDIT!

How come you posted on the 28th May the following:

So you found a website selling Brand New Genuine egg crate grille for £155 but now your saying it was going to cost £300?

Your also saying that you can get a Brand New Genuine one for £155 but you willing to try and get £150 for a 2nd hand damaged one?

Mmmm....

If I remember rightly the one I found online wasn't the right part. A search did remind me that scooby said dealers were about 200 when someone questioned a second hand one on eBay at 100. I'm pretty sure my dealer was 280-290 ish, though they always cost me a bomb for everything. I paid about £100 from Lee71, I thought if I said £150 I might get knocked down to £100 ish and I'd post it for free.

Oh well I'll chuck it on eBay, if it doesn't sell it can go in the recycling. It would only have paid for a weeks petrol on the new car anyway :-D
