Erratic indicators
I've had my V90CC for about 4 weeks now and love it - except for one thing. The indicators don't "click" to a steady rhythm and it gradually seems to be getting worse. I'm not sure if the actual indicator flashes steadily and it's just the audible "click" that's out, but it's annoying and I've had passengers comment on it, which is quite embarrassing for an expensive car.
Can anyone else please tell me if they experience this or if it's one to get looked at? |

It is normal for the indicators to miss a beat/click now and then, reported by lots of members, and mine does too but sounds like yours are doing something different.
P.S, I have observed the reflection of mine in the paintwork of vehicle in front when mine misses a click and the indicators worked fine at a steady rhythm. Make me wonder if the sound is generated via software as apposed to flasher unit. Last edited by nu11eaf; Jul 21st, 2018 at 19:50. |

Mine misses a beat sometimes; it seems to be random.
As the indicators are LED, I'm 99% sure the click is generated by a control unit rather than an old-style mechanical flasher unit.

The OP is right, it is embarrassing for such an expensive car.
Unfortunately, I suspect Nu11eaf and Lexman8 are correct and the sound is software generated, and as we all know computers and software are glitchy. Modern cars are now so dependent on computers that we must expect glitches, which doesn't make it "normal" as Nu11eaf suggests, but rather that our expectations of perfection, even in an expensive car, should be lowered as a result. I believe the luxury marques such as Bentley and RR still use mechanical analogue clocks, probably as a sign of luxury and perhaps also for reliability so as to avoid these glitches? |

He had to open the windows even on the motorways...imagine the German "refinement"! I joked to him and said next time you buy a Merc, don't be so tight and add Air Con to the option list! |

I have worked out why - on some occasions at least - it misses a beat. It is when the computer has to do something else. Mine will interupt or miss a beat if something else is adjusted on the main screen.
Also I was joining the motorway and the car warned me of park assist not being available. The indicators were still on but went quiet for about 4 clicks and then a bit erratic for a couple too.
