Wanted - Any Immaculate 400 Series
Hello
I am the owner of KGF Classic Cars in Peterborough and have a particular soft spot for classic Volvo's. If you have a cherished immaculate example and are thinking of selling, please get in touch. Many thanks Karl www.kgfclassiccars.co.uk 01733 425140 |

With respect, why would anyone sell you a mint car so that you can flip it on with a massive mark-up on top?

Hello jakobandhismakarov
The reasons are numerous. We offer many proud owners a route to market while they still own the vehicle for example. This helps achieve the best price for the owner by presenting the vehicle in the correct way without having to deal with the enquires direct. Best regards Karl Owner 01733 425140 |

Still doesn't make a car worth 50% more than its market value because you photographed it in a white room.
TBH I'd rather sell through the owners' club and keep the profit for me, rather than making your end of month spreadsheet look good.

So, does that mean that he is only paying you for your car IF he sells it thru his site?????

Good Evening mrmeringo
We can purchase the vehicle outright or sell the vehicle on a commission basis. The commission sale offers a higher return but payment is not instant. Full details available on request. Best regards Karl Owner www.kgfclassiccars.co.uk 01733 425140 |

Comment on car dealers.
Quote:
Possibly at play here is that many Volvos (of all ages) come onto the market with low ownership and good provenance, and the dealer sees a profit opportunity (as Volvos generally are far better value than classics of the same era). No real harm in that except this forum is for enthusiasts - car dealers, in my opinion will not add value to the"life"of the forum (with the exception of those retailers offering a tangible service that could be - i.e they are offering a product). And those retailers should be posting in the appropriate section. Prufrock. |

When I have sold Volvos in the past (some of which have been low mileage and immaculate) I have offered them on here to members first. Should I at some point wish to sell my excellent condition 240 then I would certainly be doing the same.....

I didn't realise KGF offered a commission service. I know he has a business to run. Although there is a part of me that resents market values being distorted, if an immaculate example of a car sets a price precedent it gives a reflection of what the market will stand - and that's capitalism, like it or lump it. There's clearly a lot of enmity towards prices being pushed up - and by that I mean the reception he received on Retro Rides over the Mk2 Golf GTI.

And with just cause I would say. I dont regard these cars as a means to profit or as investment opportunities. They should be appreciated for what they are - rugged and charasmatic tools and kept in daily use for as long as possible. Its best all round if prices are kept to sensible levels not sent sky high so that owners are worried about actually driving them!
