Fuel consumption
This might be of interest, perhaps:
I've just achieved my best-ever fuel consumption, of 37.4 mpg, on a clear motorway run, non-stop, of 150 miles, at a steady 60mph with occasional increases to 65 to pass lorries. No passengers, no other load. Daylight, warm day. It's a 1990 GL 2.3, with LH2.4 ignition. By comparison, local journeys, longest trip 10 miles on narrow rural roads, the average is about 27 mpg. (My best fuel consumption of all time was a Renault 4, which did an easy 45 mpg on short journeys, and over 50 on long runs) |
