Not afraid of Panzers..

But every mile or two I was looking round my shoulder half expecting to see a certain Untersee-Boot following me (music background : "Jaws" theme alternating with works of Klaus Doldinger)

Nothing but changing the oil early. I needed a load of good oil to cleanse an engine suffering a rancid, foul, 21 month old bellyful of oil.

Castrol 0W-40 European Formula.

You want excitement? I installed a new, aftermarket oil filler cap gasket. It cost 60p. 60d, no?
The old one, at 12 MY of age, was showing its age.

Replaced the e-brake hardware on my project V70XC. Was worried that the previous owner had done a number on the hub but it was fine. I really hate fiddling with that e-brake. While reinstalling, I noticed that if the shoe retainer springs don't have enough spring, the brake shoes get a bit loose. I think this could make for a really annoying rattle when going over bumps.

Thumbs up What I did today...

Checked that the PCV system was clear, using the rubber glove over the oil filler.
Slight suction, so it is working correctly.
Fitted a large number of wood trim pieces to the interior.
Centre section has some carbon accents too.
Have some extra bits left over, that I might sell, if anyone is interested. Mostly, door trim, which I already had, trim for a stereo radio cassette with CD, glove box trim and a tiptronic gear selector surround.
Photos of the full install to follow shortly.
Ordered some 15mm wheel spacers today, as since I lowered the car 40mm, the front passenger side tyre scuff the inner wheel well. Hopefully that will cure it.

Ooooh, I like those carbon accent pieces - did they come custom cut? If so, where did you get them?

No mate, I did them myself, with a sheet of 4D carbon vinyl wrap. Thanks though. 😉

Pretty easy to do, when the components are removed from the car.

I fought to get that stuff onto the lower console to cover up the peeling paint. I got the job done but man, I could use some schooling on how to do the edges!

Warm it up with a hair dryer.
Follow the edges with a narrow, sharp blade.

Couple of hours work.
