Redblock custom cam covers available now!
I have painted a couple of cam covers over the past couple of weeks and im really pleased how they came out, and im prepared to offer them to forum members. Here are some pictures of the one I did this week...
Basically, this will work on an exchange basis - I have a few cam covers spare (late, black top type) and I will paint one up for you, send it to you, and then you send me your old one back. Basic price will be £45, plus postage (i.e. 2 x postage, once for me to post your new cover to you, and another when you send me your exchange cam cover) That will get you one identical to the one pictured - piano black (Two pack professional bodyshop paint and lacquer) with brushed aluminium effect "VOLVO" lettering and 10x stainless steel dome nuts and spring washers. Custom colours available upon request, PM me for details and cost Add £5 for mirror polished lettering (as per picture below), but please bear in mind this goes dull over time and oil marks etc usually make it necessary to re-polish now and then. I would guess the turn around time would be less than a fortnight, but most probably much quicker (especially if opting for the standard colour scheme). You will not be without a cam cover because of the exchange arrangement. Couple of rules: 1) The exchange cam cover must be of good enough condition for me to use for my next customer i.e. no cracks or big gouges, especially on the lettering. 2) Its up to you to install it properly with a new gasket and make sure nothing (such as HT leads!) chafes your new paint off! 3) You have to post a picture of it installed Don't all fight at once! Steve

Edit on the above reply. I can do a 16v cover but I'm not offering crackle finish and I dont have one in stock to do an exchange, so you'd have to send me your actual one

Beautiful job there for a show car ! However how does the paint stand up to long term use , how long have you tested them for ? The cover gets mighty hot and heat cycles each day from ambient to 120C probably ...
