Door lock actuators
I had my car for 2 years now and I have just bought my 4th second hand door lock actuator. I've only one door on its original.
Are they a particular weakness on these cars? Anyone know why?

1997 Volvo V70:~ Door actuator.
Just completed some work on the driver’s side door lock motor- plenty of advice already submitted on the forum/ web so no point in going right through it again. Couple of pointers that may be useful – the plastic cover plate removal can be done neatly by sliding a blade around the channel section of the lid, the original grease tends to be a little hard so best replaced. Opening the motor up is also straight forward and responds well to cleaning & light greasing – various methods of replacing the small metal contact plate at the rear of the motor are also included in the advice but I found that a cut section of copper plumbing pipe is ideal once flattened. Reinstatement of the connecting rod from the door lock barrel is well documented but can be slightly easier by having a length a string/twine looped over the end and passed into the interior- you can then fit the assembly quite loose and use the pull cord to help the rod into the appropriate hole--- it’s still a pain though!
