Default Squeeking Belt & Pulsating Steering (Video)

Hi all

First of all sorry for the first post being a problem/needing help but after 4 days of ownership I'm already in a pickle..

So I bought a 55 plate S60 D5 185bhp 113k miles with FSH, got it cheap as needed a few little bits doing. Unfortunately on test drive I did not notice the pulsating steering and there was no squeeky belt.

Anyway, the aux belt started squeeking 2 days ago, I searched on here and read alot of people having problems with the alternator pulleys. Not wanting to get to involved I dropped it off at local garage, later that day they said it had been sorted, the plastic cover was rubbing on the alt pulley, it was cleaned off and re-fitted, £130 later I come to start the car at the garage and sounded exactly the same! They are taking it back tomorrow to 'fix it'. But I wanted to have a look myself today.

So this is how it sounds, also with a bit of water applied ... https://youtu.be/gFdwSFFcSdc

Any suggestions? I'd rather be able to go back to the garage with a little more knowledge. Is the lower left pulley supposed to have so much movement? I take it this is some sort of dampner? May be stupid question but how to do you release the tension on belt to remove and check pulleys?

Regarding the steering the first job the garage was meant to do was change the fluid, as the fluid in there now is a clear brownish colour, not the green of CHF11s. Could the squeek be related to powersteering pump? (They are changing fluid tomorrow) Im hoping it might make a difference, but I would imagine the rack is on its way out.

Sorry for the rambling first post, just want to get to the bottom of it.

Cheers, Jack.
