Default 2008 2.4 won't start

Hello, ma again.
I bought a car today, 83k 2008 185ps. Got about half way home into a 150 mile journey and stopped for a McDonald's. Went back out to the car and it wouldn't start, just spins over. Started fine at the garage where I got it from. The garage paid for me to get a taxi home and are paying for any repairs, I am due to go back later with RAC to recover it.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Would seem it doesn't like to start once warm/hot

Fuel pump or filter, it sounds like it’s not getting fuel.

Faulty crankshaft position sensor can/will cause the car not to start when hot, but most times once cooled down will start again

Yeah was my line of thought. Thanks for that, going back for it now, hoping it will start so I don't have to wait for the RAC

Hi, another possibility is the ring aerial around the ignition key barrel. This happened to me on a v70.

I guess this could be checked out with Vida.

So, I've had the car looked at, had the fuel filter changed and also I've changed the crankshaft position sensor, but still the car won't start once it's been used and got warm, I have to wait at least an hour to be able to start it again, getting really frustrated with what is a lovely car!

Please any help would be appreciated, thinking of trying the coolant temperature sensor next?

The only way to get to the bottom of this is to read the DTCs with VIDA. Otherwise you are just firing the parts cannon which will end up expensive.

Is this the process of holding the reset button and pressing the fog light switch?
