Juddering
Hi its a very brief question but can anyone shed any light on a 2009 xc90 juddering at 70mph when going up hill.
If there is a thread then gladly point me in the right direction. Thanks Big 1

Put it into manual mode and kick down a gear, it may likely go away. Monitor it over time, if it always happens in the same gear at around the same speeds, it will likely be the lockup function on the torque converter. My understanding is that the Torque Converter is starting to slip But things to try are: 1. Transmission oil change (may make it worse as the new oil is clean and free of friction particles which might have been helping in the past) 2. Valve body replacement (if possible) 3. Transmission rebuild / replacement (I'm dreading this) I love my car but I have never had a bad transmission on any car in my life, and I don't won't to have to do a rebuild .... or pay for a new transmission.... but I might have to...

Thanks for the reply, forgot to mention it's a manual (6 speed). My other issue is that I've only just bought it. Hopefully going to talk to the dealer (second hand, not volvo) today and see what he says.

Could be a driveshaft? Have a look and see if there is any obvious signs that they are worn. What about when you accelerate hard at low speed?
