Aha, good. Then you know it's not a park assist system issue, but a loudspeaker fault. Or softspeaker, by now...

I've now discovered that the radio doesn't produce any sound to the right side of the car, back or front so the problem seems to be with that.

Did you ever resolve this? I have exactly the same issue (potentially the same car?!)

Same problem on a 2010 V70 R Design, very low volume that is not adjustable, would love to know what the fix is.

What massively helped me work this out was I found a frequency tester on Youtube. I played this on my mobile through the AUX and was then able to work out excatly what frequencies were missing! Mine turned out to be the woofer in each door - all four gone/not working correctly! So - check all your speakers work as they should (or sit in each seat and try and work it out) and see if your speakers work. Also on newer models - do adjust the volume as you reverse. If it's stopped working suddenly it's unlikely to be that - but check anyway. My older model doesn't do sensor volume though. I replaced all my speakers with ones from Amazon, matching the OEM specs as close as I could (especially Impedance) I think I paid just over £100 for all four in the end. Choose slightly better once for the front and cheaper for the rear (Children use headphones and always complain about my music anyway). Speakers are riveted into mounts. Hope that helps?

On models with parking assist volume control there are two ways of adjusting the volume. Firstly you can use the volume buttons on the steering wheel when the parking assist is in operation. You can also use the screen menu system to make adjustments in volume but it's easier to just adjust the sound when the system is in operation.

My 2012 has a separate volume setting menu item, with a few adjustments possible. The 2016 we have has even more settings for this, in a menu.
Front and rear park assist volumes can be set separately. |

I wish that existed in the early models. I don't have the visual parking sensors display either on my 2008 model - really useful additions to add!

Both our XC70 have the graphics at the right section of the center display. It shows both front and rear sensors.
When reversing, the park assist sensors are also overlaid in the backup camera's video stream. If the sensor detects anything, a "virtual concrete block" is superimposed on the picture, green, yellow or red, depending on how far away it is. |
