Default Fuse for boot light

2009 S80. The lights in my boot have stopped working. I'd assumed that the bulbs had failed and replaced them. Still not working.

Next step is to check the fuse. When I looked in the owners manual I cannot find any reference to the fuse for these lamps.

Does anyone know which fuse I should be checking?

When my boot lights failed on a 2010 S80 D5 a couple of years ago that was closely followed a few weeks later by the boot failing to open using the release button (along with no numberplate lights too I seem to recall).

Fault was down to the tailgate harness (30786217) having most of it's wires broken inside the rubber conduit between the boot lid (far left corner) and body. Poor design and the wiring in the harness is not suitable for repeated flexing. I had to carefully cut away the rubber to find this fault and probably half the wires inside were severed. As they were all black and unmarked no possibility of repair in situ but a £43 bill in the end for a new harness along with an hour or so fitting it back in (fiddly but not particularly difficult).

David.

Good to hear about your experience, hoping that I won't have the cascading failure you've been through.

Update. My boot release started to fail intermittently in late December. Got the harness replaced today by my Volvo-friendly local indy. Lights and boot release restored.

Always good to hear that a problem has been solved.
