Can someone recommend some places to get a part for my 2011 V60.
Either used or new.

Believe the part number is 31276538.

I've messaged the parts department at my local dealer, waiting for a reply, but I 'm assuming they might not be the most competitive, and certainly don't do used parts.

Perhaps if you told us which 'mystery location' you were at then some folks could give you some recommendations as to any local breakers.

Near Glasgow, but most of the ones I've looked at, post parts, so I didn't think it was relevant.

On the basis of using a breakers with a postal service I would suggest S&I Thompson in Galashiels (Google search car breakers Galashiels for contact details). They will remove parts for you and then ship to you. The last item that I bought from them was a V70 o/s/r door glass. One of their staff lives across the road from me and he volunteered to make a home delivery.

Hi,

As others above have alluded to, FRF are good

FRF Volvo main dealer in Swansea. They have a deal with the VOC, just quote discount code C000003 if I recall correctly.

Discount varies on what parts supplied, but I had cooling system bits and ranged from 5% to 35%

Importantly they supply genuine Volvo parts, and can get from Sweden if needed.

Best way is to email Chris Harris in parts team, just do email with your vehicle details and importantly the VIN in the reference bar, outline what you are after and Chris will normally do all the parts hunting.

Contact is chrisharris@frf-motors.co.uk or parts telephone is 01792 790066 although I only use email to enquire as telephone is very busy. You do have to phone to make card payment but do initial query first on email.

Link to Genuine Classic Parts that has parts lists for Volvo models, good to save and refer to, but I have never quite been brave enough to rely on my translation of codes as so many different options.

Depending what you want Arnold Clark Parts, Glasgow, and on ebay, can be competitive and worth a try. I have bought a couple of very reasonably priced things recently from them. See: https://www.arnoldclark.com/parts/

John Clark Volvo Dundee, they will give a discount if you are a VOS member. Speak to Shirley Long, she is excellent and nothing is too much bother for her. Shame my local Volvo dealership isn't the same...
