Hi, and welcome.

Can you post some pictures of the car? I'm sure you'll get it fixed up; there's plenty of help and encouragement on here!

Just too update you 240 guru's, I have now taken this GLT on as our previous buyer found himself a mint 244 !

The old gentleman refered too originally was Herbert and a sprightly 95yrs old, is he our oldest Volvo driver ?

Work starts Monday on the welding, front brakes and cylinder head gasket !

When done will be a cracking GLT, the interiour is immaculate.

Whilst im on, im looking too put on a set of 17" wheels, however, cant find any that fit, anyone got any contacts / information to assist or maybe already done this too their 240 ?

cheers.

To fit 17's the best bet is to buy a set of decent spacers to use some front wheel drive Volvo wheels off an 850/s70/v70 etc. You need the spacers to essentially lower the offset of the fwd wheels.

Good news.

Why not start a project thread to document the work you do? I can vouch that it's rewarding and motivating, and you get lots of helpful advice/suggestions.
