Just filled up and the actual fuel consumption is worse than stated on the OBC.

Actual mileage between fills was 617 and it took 64.07 litres to fill the tank again. If my maths are correct that gives me an average fuel consumption of 40.09mpg which doesn't sound right to me on a steady motorway run (70/80 mph down and 60/70mph back due to weather)

It's that 80 mph which is the killer , uses a huge amount of extra fuel than going at 60 mph .. and have you come across many hills ? Set it to instantaneous , you will then see where it is drinking it and when it is doing well like 70 mpg ..

Tommy/Clan
Spot on description ,Goes like a scalded cat off the mark but feels a bit long geared in top gears, deceptively quick due to gearing.
Currently getting 45.4mpg at a average speed of 31mph which i'm pleased with.
Can't help wondering what mpg i would have got with a manual D5 (205) compared with my D3 (163) so many different opinions.
