Bluetooth is just for phone calls (doesn't stream music). Once connected the phone connection is quite good (clear and no reverb) and should reconnect automatically when you turn on the ignition.

I think Lucky has claimed all of the car aft of the rear seats.
I thought not too but when I press mode they are both there? Nevermind, not the end of the world. It does reconnect automatically and the quality it good, just have to wipe it of the previous owners data!

Lucky does take up all the room the little monster, ordering a Hatchbag to go in there soon

Very nice! Any details on yours?

It's been a road and a half to get here but we are here now and I couldn't be happier with the car or what I paid for it. Mpg is very impressive considering the size, AWD and 185 D5 engine with auto box. I track it on an app on my phone so I'll let you know the outcome after the whole tank. If it's above 36-37 mpg I'll be happy

Thumbs up

.

Your usb and ipad leads may be in your glove box as is in my XC90 which is 6 months younger than your XC70,but the aux in should still be the same at the top of your centre console cup holder flap/slider/cover.

Nice looking car Sean.....enjoy

Aha! Cheers Ian, will have a peek and see what I can find

It's a shame the previous owner didn't wait a few more weeks, the car was registered 30/01/2008 on a 57 plate! Not that it matters too much, the number plate of death is in the process of being transferred haha.

Already got some upgrades planned; big grill badge, new wheel colour, Hatchbag for the pets etc

I found the iPod lead!!!!!!! It's a perfect finishing touch to the car it was staring me in the face the whole time, sat in the centre console it looked like a loose lead but both iPod and USB connection are present and correct so I attached a 30 pin to Lightning adaptor and now I've cleared all the previous owners phones and contacts from the Bluetooth kit and set up our phones and contacts and now I've got used to the voice activation in really liking this phone system

250 miles in and I'm still in awe of the car, I've spent a small fortune on genuine Volvo oil, filters and paint to get the car mechanically and cosmetically perfect. Haven't started on the detailing gear yet! Done my usual of fitting Osram Cool Blue Intense bulbs to replace the old. Much whiter crisper light IMO. Pics to follow

Glad you got it .....

Re usb try running a 4gb usb stick with your fav music on it straight into it....the sound is awesome and 4gig of music is plenty long enough.

I have an 8gb one mate but I primarily plug my phone in. I know it's of little importance to some people but it's a function I use a lot.

First upgrade, Osram Cool Blue Intense bulbs; not blue as the name suggests but 4200k temperature white light, much crisper than Nightbreakers etc IMO

New on the left of the pic (drivers side)

And a close up of old and new

The old Nightbreaker in comparison

Annnnnd the elusive iPod lead

More to come

Agreed new bulbs much better light and the leads a great find....

I have sim card input for integrated phone so leaves the usb free for input.

...re 8gig usb stick I also have 8gb as well as the 4gb stick I'm using but haven't managed to listen to the end of the 8gb one yet as that is an awful lot of hours of music. (We drove to scotland from devon with a couple of breaks on the way a total journey time of 13 hours and still didn't reach the end of the music on the 8gb stick).

Cheers Ian, yes these are very good IMO, always put them in my cars if they don't have Xenons, even then I upgrade the main beams as well. Had a little parcel delivered today and apparently there's another coming tomorrow

Here's what we have for now

Yep, 7 litres of Gulf ACEA A5 oil from Opie and a full set of genuine filters from a Volvo dealer on eBay doing them cheap. To top it off, some Seashell touch up paint for the chips. Tomorrow a couple of cans of Silver Bright is coming for the wheel touch up and for the front and rear silver valences to rid them of damage and stonechips, I have some Wynn's diesel injector cleaner and a can of EGR cleaner to use with the service and lots of detailing goodies including a CarPro cube (9 CarPro samples for £20) and a fresh bottle of Gliptone liquid leather.

I'm off the old mans new abode where the ground is flat all day tomorrow to make a start, beginning with the oily bits

Pics to come. In fact this thread is rapidly becoming a blog for my XC haha
