Or if one of the several million idiotic road users over whom you have no control happens not to be driving in an exemplary manner.
I'm glad some people ride bikes though... keeps a steady supply of decent organs available for transplants. And I've already accepted that no Volvo enthusiasts (or eBay users, or readers of my local free ads paper) are interested in a slightly tired old Volvo. Volvo enthusiasts in the right mind aint going to pay £650 for what looks like a slightly scruffy and dirty GLT with faults when they can go on ebay and buy one for less.......stop complaining about it and making a fuss on here and go swap it in for that german rubbish you're after, weve all heard enough of the moaning about "no one wants my 240"
.....and Im not dead yet having been riding a bike for quite a while now, and no near misses either, and you cant have my organs....

I'm not making a fuss. This was a for sale advert that several people who weren't in the least bit interested in buying the car decided to reply to.
Just because you haven't had an accident on your bike, this does not mean that an accident of car (or bus, or lorry) vs. bike is likely to have a favourable outcome for you. Cars are also dangerous, but significantly safer. You might, but I don't see riding a motorbike on public roads as a risk worth taking. (Of course, if you deduct the £100 you'd pay for a new starter motor, I'm only asking £550. And that was just the asking price. I thought it was the decent thing to do to offer the old girl to people who might want to save her, but I'm not sufficiently philanthropic to give it away when it has a potential value of £2000 to me). |

This has surely gone too far...
£650 isn't totally unreasonable, assuming it's not rusty etc... might be worth giving the old girl a clean, putting it on ebay with a detailed listing and seeing how it goes with a sensible reserve? 200's seem to be commanding high prices at the moment, and everynone loves that metallic grey. Don't really see anything wrong with the scrappage scheme, assuming the car being scrappaged isn't something seriously rare/desirable/classic etc but if the seller has advertised on here then I think it's fair he does what he likes if it doesn't then sell. It's just the way in which it's portrayed to the public that gets me about it being more environmental etc... but that's for another topic! |
