Tis ok Jim, this is an OLD post I made over a year ago, July 2006 lol.

Just insured the Rover for road use and use road legal cut slicks etc, it's a bit severe as a road car what with 2 seats, harnesses, a bottle of nitrous where the back seats should be, and nothing else in it, but it's all taxed, tested, insured (ouch with all the mods it's £500 with a 1000annual mileage limit) but it's much more fun driving it to events than towing it lol. It's light at 1050kg so if I ever do fancy towing it for whatever reason (down south event and fear of breakage) I'll check and see if the golf's weight is up to it ( I think it's 1400kg), or whack a tow bar on to Jacqs 850 (2.0 20v petrol though, it's thirsty enough as it is without a 1300-1400kg trailer)

Thanks Ross,

Never noticed the date of this.

no worries Jim, cheers for the reply anyway, wouldn't be the first time I've done it when someone has brought an old thread back.

740 turbo good. But max weight in UK 1500kg although volvo handbook says 1800

For more than tht, Mitsubishi Shogun or non-rusty Trouper if yo can find one - or the Daddy - a Landie 110 or 109.
