Default OS door mirror indicator bulb replacement

Hi all

I need to change the drivers side door mirror indicator bulb

I found a thread in the >2007 V70 forum

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=113973

Is it the same for the 2008 with electric folding mirrors ?

Mine's a 2011 with electric folding, and yep, follow the guide popping the mirror out and it's an easy job!

I am very glad you added that extra part

I read it at first of popping the whole mirror off, not just the glass !

Thanks for that :-)

Oops, yep, I meant just the glass :-)

While we're on the subject, I changed mine from 'fried egg' orange to diadem chrome and they look a lot better (along with the rear indicator bulbs).

Cheers,

Nick

Actually it was the original post that made me think it was the whole mirror, but no harm done

So the bulb is a tinted one then? or just the lens within which it sits?

I will check shortly, I have plenty of 501 bulbs but no coloured

It made me wonder if the mirror indicators would fail an MOT if not working?

Correct, the bulbs are tinted silver, but glow orange when lit.

I went for these Osram bulbs:

https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/d...rome-wy5w-twin

And I'm pretty sure any external bulb not working is be an MoT failure.

Best,

Nick
