Flat front 740 GLE estate, £1100 ono
I'm selling my 740 GLE.
Untitled by max_burton, on Flickr There's a thread about it here detailing most of the car. 176k, runs and drives, MOT to 28/6/18. Silver Green (so green seats) prefacelift/flat front GLE, 2.3 automatic with the ZF gearbox. New rear calipers, injector o-rings, recent Avon tyres, front droplinks, sidelight units and rear light clusters. It's not concours as the paint has some marks here and there, it's a good honest car though and is always well received. Additions to standard include a vinyl load cover, Monroe self levelling rear suspension (wasn't standard fit until 1988, this car had it retrofitted in 1997, since when it's only done about 50k) and genuine dog guard, Kenlowe automatic transmission cooler, dual electric towbar, and Tyron bands on the wheels, though all these seem to do is cause grief for tyre fitters - caravan/towing specialists should know how to deal with them though, and I'd suggest you just have them removed - all they do is stop the tyre coming off the rim, and remove with a 5mm Allen key once accessible. The car runs smoothly and reliably - it's a good runner that doesn't need anything doing to it mechanically. The interior is in excellent condition except that the headlining needs replacing. No broken bits of trim etc - the door bins etc are all intact. The manual sunroof tilts but doesn't slide. All electrics work except the bulb's gone in the heater control panel - I never bothered to fix it because the sliders are so easy to operate. Two extra steel wheels with good winter tyres are included. Masses of history, original brochure and a Haynes manual are also included, as are 5 keys. Fair bit of work and money has gone into it while I've had it but it's a bit big for my needs most of the time so I'm going to look for something a bit smaller. Price is £1100, sensible offers welcomed and encouraged, car is in Stalybridge SK15, Greater Manchester - not far from the M60 and M67.
