Default Car play connections

I have a new s90 . I've come from a Jag and find the setup logic very hard to follow.I don't think the cars in newzealand come with a sim slot but I can't follow the manual so don't know where to look.
I've put Spotify and pandora on my phone but I gather I can't store music on the computer.I can get the car play to go sometimes but then it won't connect to pandora or Spotify .the salesman gets it to all go but I think he sets it up through the yards wifi.
This is getting very frustrating and the sites all assume a built in sim. I have an old iPhone with a data card . could I use that as a surrogate drive for the car play and music storage.? Would my phone still connect to Bluetooth.
I love the car otherwise but it's so complex after the Jag

Yes, you would be able to use your iPhone with a data card to create a WiFi hotspot to connect to the Internet and play the music on it. Good luck
