As far as I know it only means non-members cannot put their cars in for judging. Of course, being a member doesn't mean ones car is automatically judged - its optional, I've never entered my 164, I just put it in the line-up to boost the attendance records of that model.

I do not want to start an argument about how the show was run I was just commenting on the lack of interest on the forum about the show.
Jon wanted to make the BKV a special event last year (I think) as it was anniversary of the 700 series cars. There was very little response when he suggested it on here then as well.

Spot on Steve.

I did suggest a special event last year (30th anniversary of the launch of the 740 saloon), and there's an anniversary this year too. As Register Keeper there's a responsibility to suggest ideas (for something a little different): but without the oxygen of enthusiasm...

Tailgate Register anyone?

Theres always the 40th anniversary to plan for - which would coincide with the 240's 50th.

Sorry for taking things further off topic

As regards the National - well worth it even if its only once just to see what its all about. The last one I went to (2008 I think) was a great day out and I picked some useful bits of trim and assorted parts up too.

Ian

No need to park separately! Infact for the last few years I think people have been encouraged to park with their class, even if they are non members or don't want to be judged. Stops an "us and them" feeling spreading.

Of course, people can park away from the classes if they want, but it is nice to have all the cars together!

See you all in a few weeks,

James

James V70R is quite correct. Non club members who turn up are encouraged to park in the "Arena" within their own model class. Yes of course we would like them to join the club and they will be invited to do so, but there is no requirement. If club members do not wish to have their car judged all they need do is not display the judging form.
Just to clarify a query Non Members cannot enter their cars for judging. To enter the "Competition" you must be a paid up current club member.
