Exclamation XC90 lower suspension arm

My wife put our 2005 XC90SE in this morning for an MOT and I have just been told that it has failed due to excessive play in the bush in the lower suspension arm.

I am at present awaiting a quote from my Indie for the work and i am aware that this is sometimes called a "wishbone" so have some questions for the techies!!

Doe's the whole arm need to be replaced or just the bushes?
Is it best to replace in pairs?
Does anybody have an idea of the cost (not important as it has to be done) I just require a ball park figure.

Many thanks..

Marc

the bush is available separatly The volvo dealer has a special tool to replace it . It should not have failed as it isnt a safety issue , an advisory would have been more appropriate ...

I've just had this done and it cost me just under £200 from a local garage. Volvo quoted about £260 I think.

Volvo quoted me the same but my Indie used genuine Volvo parts and did the job for £150 cheaper than Volvo. A no brainer really!!
