Default Gabby the 144

Well, that's another year sorted - MOT passed May 11th 2009, YEEEEHAH!

Just a couple of light bulbs, headlight aim (again!?!), slightly frayed seat belt and binding n/s handbrake - not too shabby for a 38 year old eh?

Well done indeed, that's a very acceptable MOT tally. (No steam?)

My friend took his '73 Scimitar for MOT a while back, after a period off the road. Whilst inside the MOT station it lived up to the reputation. It caught fire, and simultaneously started leaking coolant profusely.

It still passed though. They're a Rolls/Bentley specialist and with some of the cars they had in at time, they couldn't wait to get the smouldering Scimitar out of the door!

(BTW, your mate didn't buy the barn-find RHD 142 on ebay did he?)

Not bad at all! The other month mine failed on a slightly worn balljoint in the steering, and two icky outriggers. The former was easy but the later turned into new front floors too, in order to do the job properly and permanently.... That's the last of the structural rust gone though!!!!

Very glad to hear that the overheating issues have gone - will you be at the main BKV later in the summer? I hope to make it this year, & if so will look forward to seeing Gabby there

Unfortunately not, I'm afraid.

Its the other side of the country from me; I've got a longish trip the weekend before and a family outing the weekend after, so that weekend (in-between) I shall be at home, trying not to spend money!

Next year, depending on the location.

Regards, Nick.

Mine ALWAYS gets an advisory on the handbrake, it's like an annual ritual to come up with something at MoT time. Quite happy as long as I run off with a green sheet as well!

Mind you, she is only 36 and still wearing her BKV plaque from 1986.
