Hi folks.
My first post. Couple of minor niggles on the above steed. 1. When I top the tank up there is a leak from underneath the car. No problem with the engine running or while driving the car so I'm wondering if one of the rubber hoses or gaskets near the tank has gone AWOL or is on it's way out. 2. I seem to have a noisey lifter (202'000 miles:-), how difficult are these to change and is it worth replacing with a full set? Thanks for your thoughts. Hi Phil,
The first instance ... I had the same, except mine turned out to be a pinhole of corrosion on the sender head, once done it's never came back:) On the second instance .... try flushing the engine and changing the oil/filter, tis' possible that it's sticking and the flush may release it, worth a try before major open heart surgery!! :D Regards Dave M |

![]() Round the filler cap there is a raisable rubber gasket. This acts as a funnel for excess fuel to drain to the underneath of the car. It is possible that you are allowing a small amount of fuel to vent down the drain tube. All the best, Peter |

Try and find "FORTE" products as they are used by most dealers and are a sound product.
Hope this helps. Regards Dave M |
