Interior dome light

Sort of a different problem concerning the interior lights. I have read a lot about the lock micro switches. What is happening is the upper dome & side interior light are staying on. When I tested the door lock switches the door red lights go off when the door is closed. I have to turn the dome switch to off to turn off the lights. Is there something else controlling just the overhead lights? Thanks.

On mine the interior lights do stay on until either the doors are locked or the ignition is turned on.

They are designed to stay on for a short time then fade to off, or go off when you start the engine or lock the doors
Is this happening or are they staying on all the time?

Are you sure it isn't just that the switch is in the "permanently on" position? Daft question, but it's happened to me a good few times.....

They are staying on even after the car is started. Doors closed or open. I did check the switch is in the right position. They only turn off in the off position.

Just as a follow up, replaced the switch with no success. Dome light will still stay on. All other lights act as they are supposed to. The thing i sit does not always do it. It will work fine for awhile then all of a sudden i notice the light on when I am driving or the car is locked. Not really sure where to look.

Not that this helps, but one of my cars does exactly the same. So I am curious to know where to look also.
