Default V70 immobiliser code

After 4x4 recommended a guy in Nottingham to get another key cut, I toddled off to his house as he has done many of these before. However, he couldn’t do it. His three machines recognised the key but came up with “ clone denied”. He said I need the immobiliser code for him to complete the task.

Has anyone done this before and am I able to get this code without expense. He said go to my main dealer but they sometimes charge. Is there away of getting this code without paying for it please

When I ordered my key from FRF they gave me my immobiliser code and didn't charge.
I did however have to pay for the key I ordered and after 3 months received a full refund as they cannot supply a key at the present time due to a transponder problem from the manufacturers

You could try asking Marc - see https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=297409

My car came with a dealer 'info' printout which included the key and immobiliser codes, so they must be held on the Volvo central dealer database.
