I think a phase 1 C70 steering wheel will fit - they were all leather, chunkier and far nicer feeling

Any P80 will fit, find one you like and go for it. C70s had chonky ones, 850s came with leather options or slightly narrow vinyl ones. You can also get leather-wrap kits to fit your wheel, making it a leather one.

Thanks guys,
I'll start searching armed with that info....! I've stitched on a leather cover in the past with decent results, thanks, so that's my plan B. So horrible is the texture of this wheel I even bought a fine pair of Alan Partridge leather driving gloves ! Just a bit warm in this weather..... Last edited by XCR; Aug 5th, 2020 at 22:34. |

Are you saying that 850 steering wheels fit x70 phase 1 cars? Very interesting if so - there were some great steering wheels available for them. However, weren't they all (850s) without airbags?

850 wheels fit perfectly, and all 850s had airbags from release. You might have some issues with the bastard year V70s and functioning airbags - cant really recall. Matthewsvolvosite will detail that aspect.

The steering wheels from an 850 will fit, but the air bag is a different shape, so you will need the 850 air bag. The problem will be the cowling I believe, as this is also a different shape, which wont fit the 850 wheel!
