Default C30 2.0 egr delete

Hi had some issues with my c30 2.0d 2010. It's the 4 cylinder engine with the dpf. I was wondering how I can go about deleting the EGR? Will I be able to just blank it off and unplug the sensor or will that cause issues? I have a vida dice too if that would help?
Thanks

They also do the blanking plate with and without a hole. What's the difference?

With the MOT changes, you may be risking failing the NOx/emissions test if you blank the EGR or remove DPF -- not to mention risking a £1000 fine if the police were to catch you -- but I don't have any experience of this, I just know they were warning people who'd removed EGR and DPF, and tuning companies only offer it for "off road" use.

For the extra <5% power increase I don't think it's worth the bother.

You'd get a similar power increase if you take off the EGR and soak it in carb cleaner overnight and then put it back on. I used to do mine every time I had the timing belt changed.

It's ~£120 (it was when I did mine) for a brand new genuine Volvo DPF that should see you fit for another 100,000 miles or 10yrs. It's also easily replaceable yourself. Why anyone goes about EGR deletes and messing with the emissions system beats me.

Originally some DPFs were clogging up and would cost over £1000 to replace, so I can see why you'd want to do it for a taxi that's only driving around town, or to keep your old banger on the road as cheaply as possible, but that was before they changed the MOT regs.....
