Climate Control issues
I have a problem with the climate control on my 2000V C70 T5, the entire heating/AC system does not work at all!
When you slide the switch to turn on the AC and/or Heaters the fan whirrs for about 3 seconds then goes off and the lights start flashing for about 20 seconds. One possible fault it could be (found after a search on here) is the cabin temperature sensor - can anyone tell me where this sensor is located so I can clean it? Any other ideas what it could be? |

The cabin temperature sensor is on the dash to the left of the steering wheel behind a little grill next to the trip computor dial. They fill up with fluff and don't measure the temperature correctly so it's worth cleaning it out and then get the fault codes read.

Could be the cabin sensor, or it could be that your blower motor has died.
If the system senses that the blower motor is taking too big a current it will shut it down and cause the fault lights to flash. this would certainly explain why the motor will run for a short time then stop. As a first step, simply check that the pollen filter is clean. If it's clogged up the motor will stop! Swapping the blower motor is quite an easy DIY fix. The blower motor resistor is another possible culprit. Again quite an easy DIY fix. Haynes covers it well, and you'll find posts on here about how to do it. A new motor and resistor will be pricey, so you could try the on-line breakers. £50-ish should do it. There were several different motors used and they aren't interchangeable. You can read the part number on the motor quite easily without removing the motor - it's moulded into the plastic cover on the motor. Change the resistor at the same time. Lubricating the motor bearings might help a bit, but my experience is that once the motor's bu@@ered, it's terminally bu@@ered. Good luck Jack |

Thanks for the help (and the best wishes!).
Cleaned the sensor -it was really dirty but it made no difference. Will try pulling out the pollen filter before I take her to the stealers for a code read. |

thank you, sorry its been so long to reply. i will check that first as sounds easy, just one thing, used the car one day after it had been baking in the sun all day and the fans burst in to life blowing on full for ages though not cold so i suspect it needs a re-gas. thanks again.
