Default Manifold Gasket.

Hi all, recently replaced my manifold gasket on my 940 LPT car.

All was great and no more ticking, this sadly was a success which only lasted about three weeks?

There is no play in the studs, so can only assume the new gasket has gone?

I wasn’t able to buy an original Volvo gasket, so bought the best I could at a local motor factors.

Any thoughts, any sources of original, or better quality gasket?

Thank you.

Try Elring gaskets

Also when the engine is up to temp give the nuts a nip up as they might not be sealing properly as the manifold and head expand at different rates.

Which manifold?

More likely better quality work needed

The nuts need to be tightened evenly otherwise the gasket will be compressed on one side and loose on the other. This happens at the end points, once the heat gets to it and hardens it the loose parts break off around the holes for the studs.

See if you can view the edges and compare the compression of the gaslet at either ends.

I know this because I did it myself on the inlet.

The exhaust can also have problems with cracks in the manifold, especially if you don't have all the proper brackets.
