Default Hazard lights inop

Hi folks, so I discovered the other day that my hazard lights only work when the ignition is on! The switch does nothing with the ignition off. Apparently this is an mot failure when the time comes so thought I might try and fix it now. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Have you actually looked at the lights? My switch flashes quite dimly with the ignition on or off but the green indicator lights on the display only flash with the ignition on, but the indicators themselves do still flash.

Embarrassing. Thanks, yeah they do work with the ignition off. I had double parked and assumed that because there was no clicking noise and the green arrows didn't light up, that they weren't working... but they are.
Thanks for the prompt response and simple solution.
