Default Clean Zone?

Had the car serviced two weeks ago and today I noticed that the “Clean Zone” (above the Auto Climate/Fan Speed/AC on/off) was white.
Should this not be blue or green?

Clean Zone*
The Clean Zone function checks and indicates whether or not all conditions have been met for good air quality in the passenger compartment.
The indicator is visible in the climate view in the centre display.
The indicator is visible in the climate row
when the climate view is not open.
If the conditions have not been met then the
Clean Zone text is white. When all conditions have been met, this is indicated by the text changing colour to blue.
Conditions that are checked:
• That all doors and the tailgate are closed.
• That all side windows and the panorama roof* are closed.
• That the air quality system Interior Air Quality System* is activated.
That the ventilation fan is activated.
• That the air recirculation is deactivated.

From the XC60 manual...

Thanks, I thought it should be blue.

I normally have Auto Climate selected, but will now have to check the Settings/Climate and that the Air Quality sensor is selected, plus the fan is actually running.
Had no problems with misted up windows, of late.

Checked all the settings and they were correct.
I checked that all the windows were fully closed (visually, they were).
But using the drivers door actuators for the windows, I got a very small movement on rear near side window and the Clean Zone turned blue.

Will need to keep an eye on this, as I may have a window that is dropping slightly or a dodgy micro switch?

Hi Tem,

It seems that you've found the problem, linked to a rear window not sealing.

I know you have a while to go yet but it's also worth remembering that the Clean Zone system gradually diminishes over four years until it is no longer effective, see handbook.

I did not know that.
I will need to read up on this.
Briefly, why does it diminish, when filters are replaced at every service?
Thank you.

Not quite. Only this function diminishes:
An enhanced fan function that means that
the fan starts when the car is unlocked with
the remote control key. The fan fills the passenger
compartment with fresh air. The function
starts when required and is disengaged
automatically after a time or when one of the
passenger compartment doors is opened.
The amount of time the fan runs is reduced
gradually due to reduced need up until the
car is 4 years old.
The other Clean Zone functions continue as before.

Only one particular function diminishes (see above). It's because after 4 years there are fewer residual chemicals being released from the interior materials (plastic, leather, etc) so it's no longer necessary.

I always open a door immediately, as soon as I press the open button on the key fob.
Normally, it is a rear door to put a bag in.
I have not noticed a fan running, until I start the car.

My memory is not as good as it used to be. But was the Clean Zone function a software update, after most of us bought our MY17 cars?
I got mine on the 14th October 2016.
