Probably you got a bad fuse. Check them.

I have been searching about the car, i have good fuses in all my sectors.

i have an empty relay slot where position 9 on the late 460/440 relay box is

in the haynes manual the relay is refered to 3.17 and i now have a circuit diagram for it, however i cannot identify it from the haynes reference "SB-R" it is a 5 pin relay

found a relay with 20 second delay, its the same part number as the one used in V40's - so hopefully GATOS will have one, if anyone is interested, slot number 9 which is "interior light" should be fitted with: volvo part number 3458601 - to enable the 20 sec delay on the lights yay

I have had a "dig" around and as far as I can make out, the following applies.

Broadly there are two main versions of the main relay distribution box - an early one which includes the fuses and a later one containing relays only (with fuse box in RH under dash panel).

In addition a number of relays are located behind the dashboard and these seem to apply to both early and late cars.

Note the relays shown on the A post may (on UK cars) be located on the nearside.

I think I've got this right but if anyone can correct any mistakes or omissions or add any extras we should end up with a definitive list.

Mollusk.
Hi Mac,
this is/was a very useful post - thanks. Is it possible you could re-post the missing photo or diagram showing the relays behind the dash please? This seems to have disappeared from the original posting,
thanks again

Car electrics isn't my strongest area of knowledge (!) but I can't think why an alternator would have or require a relay? There is nothing to switch, which is what all that a relay does? So I would suspect the answer to your question is no,

Default Can´t see the picture

Hello all together,
I´m still looking for what this post is about, but I cant see the pictures/drawings in Mollusk post.
First time, there was nothing for me to see
Today, some days later, I can see them, but like through milkglas?
Why?
If anyone could give me an advise or send these drawings, I would be very happy.
Thanx in advance, and please excuse my english.
Greets from Joymoney,
Janos

User12 - assuming you still need these, I will have a check of my spare relay collection and see if I can help you.

I am curious, though, as to what's happened meaning you need to replace so many relays!
