Default B4 shocks v70 r

Hi all,
I recently changed the front shocks to b4 and th ride is great but the ride height is a bit higher which is bizarre. I may have to change the front springs over to slightly less length ones.
Has anyone had experience of the ride height changing in anyway?
Regards
Dan

I fitted B4 struts to my V40 - kept the standard springs - and the front end stands noticeably higher. B4's on the rear made no difference to ride height. The car now stands poised to pounce. 60,000mls later still the same.

Its a known and well reported issue with the Bilstein B4s, there are quite a few threads on it, and one covering it in immense detail on matthewsvolvosite.com. From a very quick check, I believe its this one: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/fo...ic.php?t=77013

I find it very strange that when you have purchased a set of front shocks from a most reputable manufacturer like Bilstein and that they have altered the cars ride height by a noticeable difference, the fact they omit to tell you that is a really poor show, you shouldn't have to faf about getting shorter springs,as all you wanted was improved damping with same ride height.I was going to get a set of B4's when mine get tired, but if that is the case i will just go for the Sachs and keep same ride height. It wouldn't have been difficult for Bilstein to state if you use our B4 shocks -'you will have to get lowered springs to keep the same ride height.

I bought B4's for my V40 as they are marketed as giving oem equivalent performance. The ride is much stiffer and I will be changing back to original shocks. I am now tired of feeling every bump and pothole in our porly maintained roads.

My B4s didn't last a month, bang boing crack crunch, and that was just my back

New Sachs with the original springs, no rust where I am, MAGNIFICENT

and helped along with some IPD sway bars, more MAGNIFICENT
But couldn't afford to eat for a bit

I had B4's and 30mm Eibach Springs front and back and absolutely loved them.

It was a very firm setup but cornered amazingly.

Hi thanks all. The b4 s are good but seem to travel more than I thought. I'm guessing new springs anyhow. With the eibach springs was it too low as I don't want to be mega low.?
