2007 Volvo S40 1.6D (Facelift) ADBlue

Hello.

Recently Engine System Service Urgent warning light came on with the red triangle. I took it to a volvo specialist who has informed that adblue was empty. Bought a 1.5L Redex AdBlue and filled the tank up.

Garage tried resetting + regeneration of DPG but warning light is still on. Car drives fine without any problems. They have informed that this specific model is meant to use genuine volvo additive. Is that correct? Or could it be something else thats causing the problem?

oh dear Volvo only started using Adblue from 2018 ! You have probably ruined the whole additive system and will have adblue which is like water in the fuel tank ... You should have used the volvo Kit

Also the additive tank level sensor has to be calibrated by the volvo dealer when the additive tank is filled ..

OMG!

Did you put AdBlue in the diesel fuel tank or in the small additive tank attached next to it?

the additive gets injected into the fuel tank every so often ...

Yes I know I have a Citroen with the eolys fluid system, I just wondered what the OP meant by "I filled the tank up" - wondered which one?
