Default 2015 S60 2.0 D4 VEA oil use/leak

I have had oil use in my car, which I have narrowed down to oil leaking somewhere around the rocker area. There is a pool of oil sitting around the fuel injector bases Presumably this gets burned off (?) It does not go down the engine, but just sits around the base of the fuel injectors. I thought go simple and check the oil cap o ring. That seems fine, and there is no oil residue around the filler cap. Do the fuel injectors have seals that go? Or could it be the rocker cover gasket? Just spent a lot of money on cam and aux belt replacement, so feeling a bit poor 😞
I have owned the car 2 years and it has always used oil. About half a litre every 4 to 6 weeks, so presumably this is the cause. Recently had loads of EGR and cooler work done FOC by Volvo, but it was leaking oil prior.
Further, I received a recall advice a few months back, but it said not to contact dealer. What was that about?
Many thanks.

Could be diesel leaking from an injector connection, or could just be engine oil where someone was careless when topping up. You need to carefully clean it all up and stuff a few paper towels here and there to find out how it's getting there.

Definitely leaking oil. I may have to syringe it out. Its about 5 mm deep.

Have you had increasing low oil warnings? Do you have positive pressure from the filler cap when removed with the engine on tickover?

Perhaps not the cause of your particular issue, but likely the cause of oil burning issues seen on many VEA engines. Obviously Volvo are not the only manufacturer with this problem, given the demands of meeting the new emissions standards.

I can't see how crankcase pressurisation could cause engine oil to be deposited on top of the cam cover?

Interesting. Mine definitely has a leak. Volvo were more than happy to fix my egr issues for free at 101k miles as, apparently, they did not want to tarnish their record for emissions standards.

There is some positive pressure from the filler cap, but nothing major. I attached a latex glove, and it only inflated a little. It seemed more like alternating positive and negative pressure.

Interesting. Mine just blows the glove off and will blow the filler cap out if left in but not locked. It's been to volvo and had the top cover re-sealed but it's no different and suspect its leaking again as I am losing 250ml of oil a week and I have burning oil smells again. It cost a lot!!!!

I am dropping it back with them tomorrow evening.

That's a lot of pressure. I have noticed slight oil burning smell, originally blaming it on the old bangers around me. This is my first Volvo, and has been the most expensive car to maintain. I had a BMW before which was quite reasonable on costs, but terrifying in snow and ice.
Good luck with getting yours resolved.
