Awesome Day out
May I thank all who organised the Gaydon event, it was just brilliant. The highlights have to be the sheer numbers of Amazons that rolled in to the Southbound services, that brilliant convoy en-masse down to Gaydon and us all circuiting the Museum and finally parking proudly at the event.
It was really nice to meet you other drivers, some of you were very kind about my tatty, but well loved 131 and reminded me that your pristine examples took many years to perfect. Thanks for spending the time to chat ,Im now fully remotivatd to carry on improving mine! Hope the chap from Dorset (blue Amazon) got back ok after a bit of an oil leak, sorry I could nt remember your name...hope you get it sorted. My 2 favourites had to be Johns dark green Amazon, the one that had been in Practical Classics, and the pristine Slate Grey Amazon with the chequered radiator mufflers on the back shelf ..you know who you are, sadly i dont as Im rubbish at remembering names, I apologise. I took a liking to the black 'sled' tye Amazon, the one with the colour coded bumpers ....kept wandering over to stare at it....maybe one day ... I met a great bunch of people who just love their cars without being anoraky about it....I really enjoyed the day thanks again. All the best ! Stuart |

Gaydon
hi thanks to everyone for making it a very special day for me, yes i was the one with the huge grin on his face at the motorway services!
I am sorry I could not chat to you all, I actually had 2 meetings with club members through the day and helped Clare (my wife) on the VOC merchandise as well as the interview with Lynne Bowles, the day went so quickly, which is usually the way for me. I made the total figure 57 Amazons in the car park does anyone have a higher figure? I was particularly pleased to see Leslie Milne from VCUK literally jumping off in the ground in excitement when the cavalcade went around the museum. I would like to thank you all again and also mention Sally Ford from Volvo Car UK and Elaine Little from TRO who were the true organisers and deserve all the thanks. I will try to come up with another venue to do a similar cavalcade next year. all the best
