Default V8 on LPG

Have any of you guys converted your xc90 (or indeed S80) v8 to LPG. I currently have my 960 3.0 converted and it`s excellent. I was put off converting my xc90 V8 because of fear of the dreaded valve seat recession but would be very interested to hear from anyone who has gone ahead and done it.

The XC90 V8 is not on the LPGA list of cars that suffer problems. The other V8's in the ford group are all ok so I very much doubt the volvo one will have problems.

As yet I have not converted the volvo v8 but I have given advice to a couple of other installers who have done them.

Default v8

I think the problem lies in the fact that the v8 is not of the same family as ford V8s or indeed other volvo engines as its made in partnership with yamaha. I was informed that as a basic rule most Jap engines tend towards having soft valves and therefore don`t take kindly to LPG and the hammering they then take.

The jap engines that have the problems are the ones using lean burn technology. The vast majority of teh jap stuff is fine with the exeption of a few engines.
